The functions of the County Clerk's Office & Register of Deeds Office have
been combined into a new department: The Department of Records and Tax
Administration. This new department will provide the same public
services as the former departments, but will be reorganized to expedite land
record functionality.
John A. Bartolac was appointed
Department Director in 2005 after serving an elected four-year term as County Clerk
beginning in January
2001. He began his employment with the Clerk’s office in 1993 as a
System Specialist and was made a Deputy Clerk in 1996. He graduated from
Washburn University of Topeka with a degree in Business Administration.
